Last spring, we made significant changes to our city council election system, through a process known as redistricting. You will continue to elect two city councilors — one for your ward and one for your district (a larger area that you share with another ward). Selene is running for East District City Council seat, which will represent her current Ward 1 and a newly created Ward 8.

To see if you are in Ward 1 or 8, or the new East District, take a look at the city’s map (make sure you check the ward and district layering options).

If you are currently registered to vote, but won’t be able to make it to the polling place on March 3rd, you can request an absentee ballot.  Request your ballot early, so you don’t miss the deadline to return it to City Hall- the absentee deadline is Monday, March 2nd!

If you are not registered to vote and want to be, you must register by Wednesday February 25th.  You can register one of two ways:

1. Go to the Burlington city clerk’s office at City Hall, anytime between 8:30am-5pm.

2. Contact Selene at 802-233-1358 or selene.colburn@gmail.com and ask her to help you with the process.
